Q.
My dog is missing from the database, how can I add them?

If your registered Tamaskan dog(s), litter(s), or approved outcross dog(s), are missing from the database, or their profile needs to be updated, you can send an email to: info@tamaskandogassociation.com. All of the submitted data is evaluated by the administrative team for accuracy.

For each dog please send us the following data (at minimum):

  • Registered Name
  • Registration #
  • Breed
  • Date of Birth
  • Sex
  • Sire (Registered Name)
  • Dam (Registered Name)
  • Call Name
  • Country of Standing
  • Reproductive Status (Intact or Sterilized)
Q.
How can I submit photos?

You may submit one or more photos of your dog(s) for display on their profile.

Requirements:

  • Photos should be in .jpg or .png format.
  • At least 1200 pixels wide or tall.
  • Only one dog visible.
  • No people in the picture that can be visibly identified.
  • If you are not the photographer you need to get permission from the photographer to use the photo.

By submitting photos to the Tamaskan Dog Association (TDA):

  • I authorize the TDA to display the photos with my dog's profile.
  • I understand that all TDA members can view the database, including photos.
  • The TDA has the right to refuse use of a photograph if it does not conform to our requirements.
Q.
How can I submit health test results?

If you have completed any health testing for your dog(s), and would like for the results to be displayed, you may also submit the health test results to TDA. It is beneficial to the members and historical record to know as much as possible concerning all the dogs within the breed, regardless of whether they are breeding dogs.

If your dog is a breeding dog, we would minimally like to be able to display results for:

  • Hip Dysplasia (HD)
  • Elbow dysplasia (ED)
  • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)
  • Eyes (with or without gonioscopy)
  • Embark DNA

All test results must be submitted with their official paperwork (e.g., certificates, forms, etc.). You may redact addresses, phone numbers, and other personal information as desired, but the dog’s name and microchip must be clearly visible on the forms, and if possible, a registration number. All results will be verified prior to being added to the dog’s profile. Images/documents/copies of the paperwork will be deleted after verification, and only the results will be maintained and shown publicly.

By submitting health testing records to the Tamaskan Dog Association (TDA):

  • I authorize the TDA to display the health test results with my dog's profile.
  • I understand that all TDA members can view the database, including health test results.
  • Test results will not be removed, redacted, or otherwise hidden after they have been added.
  • Test results may be updated with newer results (e.g., annual exams, changes in a condition, etc.).
Q.
How can I report a health condition?

If your dog has a (veterinarian) diagnosed health condition, please report it. All health conditions should be accompanied by official documentation as much as possible. Submitted issues will be verified by the TDA administrative staff before being added to your dog's profile. By submitting a health condition, you agree that:

  • The condition will be publicly shown on the dog's profile to all TDA members.
  • Unless officially reversed, a condition will not be removed after diagnosis.

If you have any questions regarding what constitutes "official documentation", please email info@tamaskandogassociation.com.

Q.
How can I submit Embark data?

We would like to collect each (breeding) dog's genomic data. We can use this data not only to record the dog's health and coat traits, but also to calculate the expected genetic COI for pairings, and track the overall genetic diversity in the breed. You can share your dog's Embark data with us in the following way:

Step 1:
Sign into your Embark account at www.embarkvet.com.

Step 2:
Scroll down to "My Dogs". Choose your dog and click on "View Summary".

Step 3:
Scroll down to the bottom till you find the section "Print or Download Results".

Step 4:
Click on "Full Report (Detailed results report)". A pdf file should load in the browser displaying your dog's full report. Download this report by clicking the download icon (top right of browser window), or by clicking the right mouse button and then choose "Save as".

Step 5:
Go back to the Summary page and repeat Step 3. This time click on "Raw Data (Download raw DNA data)". A new page will open, scroll down and click on the big blue button that says "DOWNLOAD ZIP FILE".

Step 6:
Send all files to info@tamaskandogassociation.com.
